The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their sessions, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!
Do you share my images?
Our number one priority is making sure our clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren't quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes theses photos are specifically for your spouse and are not for anyone else's eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos and it all depends on your personal preferences! If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with! You can always choose to not share! And of course, I always get a model release from you before I ever share.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You definitely don't have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality and level of comfort! There are a BUNCH of outfit ideas other than lacy little things! And of course, during our consultation, long before your actual photo shoot, we go over our wardrobe guide. It is filled with tons of suggestions! We will make sure you have all the resources you need.
Do you have payment plans?
We offer a few payment options to take the stress out of booking! There is a booking retainer so that we can get you on our calendar. After that you can choose to make payments on your balance. You can set your date as far as 12 months out and make monthly payments leading up to your shoot. Just pay your session fee to reserve your date and your product purchase will be spread out with final payment being due the month of your shoot. This is an interest free payment plan all in house! Again, we go over all of your options at your pre-consultation.
Is hair and makeup included?
Professional hair and makeup is included in all of our boudoir sessions. I think it's really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! Our amazing teams can help you complete your look, whether that's "I woke up like this" or Full on glam! We may be biased but we have the BEST glam squad and they double as our HYPE GIRLS as well! So much fun!
Do you photoshop my images?
Photoshop is my jam! I started my photography career working for another photographer and photoshop was fairly new back then. I spent years perfecting my skill and I can confidently say, "whatever you need I can make it happen" in the photoshop world. Of course we consult with you on the level of editing you want. We can keep it to a minimum with basic skin smoothing and blemish removal or we can go "full vogue"!
Where should I buy outfits?
As we all know, local shopping can be hard. There is not a ton of options and that can be frustrating. I have a decent list of online stores that I recommend - they range from very inexpensive to super high end. When you book your session I send all those suggestions over to you in an email. If you are looking for something specific that you can't find, let me know and I might know where to get it!
What type of print products do you have?
We offer a variety of albums and luxury folio boxes with prints in them! The glass folio is gorgeous and my favorite is our "lock and key box" that comes with a "real" key with sexy tassles! So cute! I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print, it's so surreal to see yourself like that and such a great reminder that you are a goddess! We also have some super fun products that are so unique - I can't wait to tell you all about our "custom naughty magazine"!
Do you offer digitals?
Most of our packages include a crystal USB with your high resolution images. We understand that today is the digital world. We also LOVE to provide you with tangible, high quality heirloom products. Why not get the best of both worlds!
I'm freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you weren't at least a little bit nervous. Besides, if your dreams don't scare you, they are not big enough...right?! I totally get it, it's not like a headshot session. This is more intimate and very personal - but you have the entire first hour to relax, get pampered, and get pumped up by our HYPE GIRLS aka our Glam Team. Once you get to me and we start shooting, you have NO TIME to be nervous. I am too busy "bossing" you around...."point your toes, arch your back, close your eyes, lift your chin....."! You will be totally fine, I promise!!!
How many outfits should I bring?
This depends on your package. With the larger packages you will have more images and therefore more outfits. You will always need a minimum of two. I always say to bring more if you can't decide and I will help you choose the best options!
Should I get to my shoot early?
Nope! I always say this isn't like the doctor's office. Most of our sessions start at 9 A.M. Our hair and makeup artists both have kids so they are usually dropping them off at daycare/school and they arrive at 9:00 too! Just arrive by 9:00 and we will get started then!
Where is your studio located?
We are located at 1142 State Street in Quincy IL. It's the corner of 12th and State, catty corner from the John Wood Mansion. You can park in our back (south) parking lot and come through the back, bottom door. You may also park in front, on State Street and come in through the front!
